The Behaviour Bible is a three-part online behaviour qualification with The School of Canine Science. Running over three years, the course aims to bring a level 6 standard of education to the masses via accessible, entertaining and interesting content. Never before has understanding the in-depth theoretical intricacies, learning the practical skills and getting to grips with the logistics of challenging dog behaviour cases been so easy.
Gently paced and expertly put together to help the learner get the most out of the materials, this course will change the way people, the world over, learn to become superb behaviour practitioners.
Chapter one: Theory-based, this chapter aims to teach practitioners the main frameworks in canine behaviour with courses covering domestication and evolution, genetics, neurobiology, endocrinology, physiology, cognition and emotion and sociology over 7 verses. Learning to see dogs through these lenses is a key foundation for anyone working professionally with challenging dogs or dogs in challenging environments.
Chapter two: The Behaviour Consult chapter is a detailed review with in-depth, step-by-step guides to successful behaviour consultations. Templates, client videos, forms, scripts to download, plus a modern and bespoke process that includes working with vets and other professionals. The chapter is split into five verses: Acquisition, Pre Consultation, Assessment Consultation, Follow up & Research Methods.
Chapter three: Leaning on the knowledge and logistical skills gleaned from chapters 1 and 2, this chapter deals with the major strategies underpinning common behaviour modification methods. It shows students exactly how to implement those methods with a view to applying them to specific problems. Verses include deep dives into the modification of separation problems, dog-dog aggression, resource guarding, human aggression, predation and compulsive behaviour.
All three chapters include lecturmentaries (a cross between a lecture and a documentary) as well as special guest interviews and deep dives. Whilst designed to be taken at a realistic pace alongside life, work, dogs and kids, over three years, if you take your foot off the pedal, there is no drama—the course is yours for life.
After viewing the course and undertaking the assessment challenges, you will be eligible to buy the optional chapter, Chapter 4 : the assessment. On completion of an exam and a behaviour simulation, successful applicants will have achieved the title of Canine Science Behaviourist.
