Corinne Wrend

Corinne has over 40 years experience in the dog training world. She initially started out training at puppy classes and pet dogs but she concentrates predominantly with sports and working dogs.

Corinne has coached a diverse range of students including renowned dog trainers, novice to elite competitors from a range of dog sorts such as Belgian Ring, IGP, Obedience, Rally, Working Trials,

When it comes to her problem solving clinics, Corinne finds ways to dig a little deeper and looks beyond the obvious to identify the real issues at hand. She loves to micro teach and brings her attention to detail to her training.

Corinne’s had previously worked for Canine Partners as an Aftercare Assistant, looking after and helping to train clients and their Assistance dogs. Until recently she also worked for Restart Dogs, training Prisoners to train assistance dogs. This last job has given Corinne a real passion to help other dog trainers to improve their communication skills and better assist their clients.

Corinne is committed to continuous learning. She regularly attends workshops, seminars, and online courses to stay up-to-date on the latest dog training techniques. To ensure practical application, she then applies her newfound knowledge by experimenting with different approaches and ideas on her own dogs.

Corinne has herself trained in a variety of dog activities including competitive obedience, IGP, Working Trials Rally, Agility, sheep herding, trick training, tv work. Corinne was one of the first IGP trainers to achieve the highest IGP qualification with her 3 Malinois using ‘positive’ methods and without the use of historically traditional tools.

She has also competed at the Belgian Shepherd World Championships twice and qualified for two all Breed world championships. She introduced the phrase ‘naked IGP’ to describe her method of training the protection phase without a helper, which she has been doing for almost 25 years’

Corinne has also bred a few litters of Malinois puppies under her affix of Rustix. Her pups have a huge variety of experiences as Corinne is dedicated to ensuring her puppies are raised in a manner which allows them the best start in life.
