Pre-Consultation Administration

Behaviour Bible : Chapter 2 : Verse 2

Preparing for a behaviour consultation is often a job rushed. Done properly and with the understanding that actually it is in the preparation phase that the key differences between a training one2one and a behaviour consult begin to stand out, is fundamental if you want success and change for your clients.

Behaviour cases, which tend to be cases where the practitioner is expected to modify or change behaviour and where the behaviour is very often abnormal (in frequency or intensity) or is inappropriate, are more expensive and take longer. They are also more risky in terms of damage to the dog, the public, the owner as well as the practitioner. The are also some of the most rewarding work we do as people who train dogs.

One of the biggest mistakes we see practitioners make is the pre-consultation process. Things like deposits not being taken, processes and schedules not being communicated properly to the client as well as history forms that add no real value too often turn behaviour consults into a glorified cup of tea and teaching session with an owner. But they should be so much more than this.

The Consultation in person seminar was one of the most popular seminars Jo-Rosie offered. Now, we have laid out every part of that process in finite detail for you to study and use. This practically inspiring and quite frankly game changing verse includes the following:
